The
following rules are put into place to ensure
that NORA provides a clean, competitive
racing environment. Although we do not enjoy
enforcing these rules we WILL NOT hesitate
to do so for the betterment of the league as
a whole. Violations of these rules will be
reviewed on a case by case basis to
determine the appropriate severity of
penalties imposed.
1.
COMMUNICATION during QUALIFYING and the
RACE, MUST be kept to a MINIMUM. RACE
related messages (IE pitting, leaving pits)
are ENCOURAGED, in moderation. There is no
need to thank every driver you pass. Excess
chatter can be annoying and distracting to
competitors which may lead to mistakes and
cautions. A warning will be issued by an
ADMINISTRATOR on the first offense, further
violation of this rule will lead to a loss
of points, a suspension, or expulsion from
the league for continuously disregarding
this simple rule.
2. FLAMING/ BADMOUTHING/ ABUSIVE LANGUAGE/
PROFANITY WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. Violation
of this rule will result in an immediate
BOOT, followed by a MINIMUM of a 25 pt
deduction, and $2,500 fine. Many of us have
small children at home that like to either
watch or help out while we race, remember
this and lets keep our language clean.
2a.
(Flaming amendment)
Any
comments made about another competitor
during any NORA sanctioned event, that are
deemed derogatory, are not allowed.
This includes, but is not limited to, name
calling, remarks about driving, blaming for
incidents, etc. Violation
of this rule will result in a MINIMUM of a 25 pt
deduction, and $2,500 fine.
3. THERE WILL BE NO JUMPING THE
STARTS/RESTARTS. LAYING BACK is NOT
tolerated. You MUST maintain a cushion of .5
to 1 seconds between yourself and the car in
front of you. Passing is NOT allowed prior
to crossing the start / finish line on the
inside. First violation of this rule will be
a loss of ALL points for the race in which
the violation occurred. Second offense will
result in a suspension of no less than 1
race, and further violations can lead to
expulsion from the league.
4.
IF you have a COMPLAINT with another driver,
Keep your comments to yourself, remove your
wreckage ( if it applies ) SAVE a REPLAY,
and send it to [email protected]
All replays WILL be reviewed by an
ADMINISTRATOR and a determination will be
made if the offender is at fault. Please
keep all replays at no longer than 10secs,
and enclose a brief description of what you
feel occurred with your replay. All
decisions on discipline for egregious
driving are FINAL.
5. THERE IS A "GENTLEMEN'S
AGREEMENT" concerning racing back to
the flag for CAUTIONS. If you have already
started a pass when the caution flag comes
out, complete the pass in a SAFE manner,
then fall in line. DO NOT FORCE THE ISSUE
when running back to the flag. WE here at
NORA would like to assume that everyone is
an informed and intelligent racer, DO NOT
abuse that assumption. Violation of this
"agreement" and causing an
incident when running back to the line will
result in a 50 point deduction in points for
the first offense, a 1 race suspension for
the 2nd violation, and expulsion from the
league for the third offense.
6. COAST to the backstretch after
taking the caution flag. COAST means take
your FOOT off the GAS, and DO NOT hit the
BRAKE. I REPEAT and EMPHASIZE DO NOT APPLY
BRAKE, COAST TO THE BACKSTRETCH. This is the
NUMBER 1 cause of accidents under caution,
people BRAKE to pickup the pace car. To
alleviate this we will COAST TO THE
BACKSTRETCH and pickup the pace car just
prior to turn 3. It is best to either stay
on the apron, or stay up high against the
wall to allow the pace car to pickup the
leaders. Please use your head in this
instance as it causes the most problems
while under caution.
7. All decisions made by the NORA
administration are final. We are here to
provide a good, clean, fun, and competitive
racing league, and we will do whatever it
takes to ensure that this happens.
8. All drivers exiting the pits must enter
the track on the backstretch under green
flag conditions. This may change from track
to track. If this is to be changed, you will
be notified at the drivers meeting for that
race.
9. Lapped cars. If you are a lap down, you
may race to get your lap back on a restart,
but once the leader is out of reach, you
MUST give way to lead lap cars. Lapped cars
not giving way to lead lap cars will not be
tolerated.
10. Connection. You must provide and
maintain a stable connection to the race
server of choice. If your connection is less
that adequate, you may be asked to leave.
Those asked to leave due to connection
issues will receive last place points.
11. Provisionals. Each driver in the NORA
will receive 3 provisionals to use
throughout the season. When a provisional is
used, that driver will receive last place
points for that race. There are no
substitute drivers allowed.
