Hello
and welcome to NORA
Magazine. This week the
NORA drivers went to
Talledega for 200 mile
preseason dash for the
cash, no points race. It
was a clear 81 degree day
with light winds from the
north. Dale took the pole
with Spitsbe on the
outside of the first row,
Davery qualified 3rd,
Slogin 4th and Sundown
started the race 5th. The
early goings were fast and
furious, with a tap
between Dale and Passer on
lap 5 resulting in a huge
crash. Dale, Silverfox,
CC, Davery, Sundown,
Speedball, Viper and
Wildwalks all led a lap by
lap 32. By lap 50 it was
Passer, Viper, Wildwalks,
Buckeye and Dodge Doc
leading the field around
and it would stay pretty
much that way until on lap
64 with Viper leading,
regular green flag pit
stops started. But Viper
had pitted on lap 24 and
could go a few more laps,
so he stayed out and had
at least a lap on most of
the field and almost a lap
on the rest. Then came the
little piece of luck that
it usually takes to win a
race. On lap 66 Buckeye
who was running 2nd at the
time came in for his green
flag pit stop. Everything
looked normal with the pit
stop, but I think what
happened is he missed a
shift on the way out and
blew his motor in turns 1
and 2(I'm not positive
but......). Anyway, out
comes the yellow, Viper
gets a free stop and goes
on to WIN ALL THAT MONEY
AND THE TALLADEGA 200!!
Congradulations Viper,
great win!! Well, thats it
from Dega, hope you all
enjoyed the mag and we'll
see ya next week when NORA
goes to Michigan.
