Hello NORA Fans and welcome to Brisol Motor Speedway. The NORA league was here last week to run a 300 lap event. It was a bump and grinder as expected, with plenty of warp to go along with it.
Silverfox took the pole at 123.737mph, Viper was on the outside of the front row with a 123.363mph lap, Wildwalks qualified 3rd at 123.055mph, Speedfever 4th at 122.976 and Davery started 5th also with a 122.976mph lap. Silverfox lead early until he connected with the 96 car as Wave came out of the pits and attemped to go high and out of Foxs' way. Fox sustained damage but more
importantly lost laps and was no longer a contender for the win.
By lap 35 Viper lead, Davery was 2nd, Speedfever 3rd, CC 4th and Wildwalks 5th. Lots of warp and bumping and grinding, but only Crad and Wave are out of the race at this point. On lap 73 Spitsbe ran into trouble and was forced to retire. The
leader board looked the same until lap 75 when a yellow flag allowed for pitting. I believe only Viper and Wildwalks pitted. So now Speedfever leads, Davery still holds that 2nd position, Viper loses 2 to come out in 3rd, CC is 4th, and Onebuck takes the 5th position.
..... bump ......... grind ....bump ........ grind .... lap 122, Davery and CC mix it up. Davery ran a strong 2nd all day long and looked to be the one to battle Viper for the win, but was damaged badly and had to wait for a tow truck, costing him a chance at victory. When the green came back out on lap 125 Viper lead, then CC, Speedfever, Onebuck, and in 5th, Silverfox 3 laps down. By lap 160 Onebuck had moved past Speedfever for 3rd and RSB had moved up to 5th place. Ronnie got collected on lap 165 and was out for the evening.
It's the 200th lap and Viper still leads, Speedfever has moved up to second, CC sits in 3rd, Onebuck in 4th, and Silverfox has recaptured 5th place. By lap 248 three more cars had lost their battle to finish this
grueling race, Dodge Doc's Scooby13, the 51 car of Bruce and RSB's number 90 car. On lap 276 Viper still leads and CC maintains 2nd, but Speedfever has had pit problems and is out of the picture, leaving 3rd to Onebuck. Speedball has moved in to take 4th place and Silverfox holds the 5th position.
On lap 300 I'm sure it was a very tired but satisfied VIPER WHO CROSSED THE FINISH LINE TO WIN AT BRISTOL!! Those 1000 or so practice laps you put in over the last week paid off! CC finished 2nd 5.6 seconds back, but not without a fight from ONEBUCK, who finished 3rd right on CC's bumper 5.8 seconds back. SPEEDFEVER finished a strong 4th 14.7 seconds back, and Silverfox, who actually passed the lead car of Viper to take back a lap (and put distance on him) on lap 252, finished 5th 2 laps down.
